...an unobstructed slapshot from the point!!

OK, so the subject was a bit of a teaser, but it got you in here, didn't it?  Grin

Alright...I'll go ahead and start this thing off...

Hi everybody, I'm Coach Rob!  I am currently the coach for the TVRHL Moorpark Mite division "Kings", and serve as a general nusiance to Walt, Ned and Joseph on a somewhat regular basis.  Happily married to a very patient hockey wife/mom, I have a 6 yo. son playing Mites division this season, and three more children coming up the ranks in the next few seasons (the next generation of Hansons?)!  By day, I'm a Product Manager for the Broadcast and Professional Division of one of those little Japanese electronics manufacturers, and by night/weekend I'm an "over-the-hill-but-of-course-I-can-still-play" hockey fanatic.

Born and raised in NYC, I am a hopeless NY Ranger fan (alright, keep it down out there!), which means I'll have a few seasons not to get too excited about the NHL.  I grew up 'on-the-ice' starting at the age of five, played my midget hockey in NY, and ended my otherwise unceremonious hockey 'career' at Boston University where (after showing up as a walk-on) I officially retired at about 1 minute and 30 seconds into my first shift (I mean, I may have stunk, but those kids were GREAT)!  Or should I say more honestly, some 210 lb. 17 yo. stud...err..."expedited" my retirement for me...OUCH!  Hey at least B.U. won the college championship that year, so at least I knew where I stood.

Having found TVRHL about a year ago, I've spent most of my "hockey dad" time volunteering as a coach/xxxistant coach/puck-shagger in both Moorpark and in Calabasas conferences, and keep threatening to "lace 'em up" again in one of the adult leagues that'll tolerate old geezers like me (I'm really just waiting for the TVRHL Adult "Z" league to be formed...lol).  I'm a big fan of the league as you can probably tell, and hope to help keep it thriving in both conferences into the future.

Well, that's more than enough about me.  But look...somebody had to start the thread!

Hope more of you will chime in as time goes on, cause you can't fool us, you KNOW you spend too much time thinking about hockey...so you might as well come hang out with the rest of us!

Oh, Rob...  You are the funniest, and I think this forum is GREAT, and way better than the current forum.  I hope Ned and Joseph have a look at your accomplishments, because I think this is great.

Congratulations on your teams record (just remember your roots when Robbie makes it to the NHL some day).

Happy Holidays,

Hey, thanks for the kudos Walt.  Props to the kids for the record though.  I just bring the pucks!  Grin
